DHAKA: An agreement which allows visa-free movement of Bangladesh and Russian diplomats and officials will come into force on Feb 12, the foreign ministry said.
According to details, Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei V Lavrov signed the Agreement on September 22, 2016 on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
This agreement will facilitate mutual visits by diplomats and officials of the two countries without visas for a period not exceeding 30 days from the date of entry.
Russia will become the second European country with which Bangladesh has signed such an agreement. The other country is Belarus, according to a statement.
