Sources informed Customs Today that the authorities concerned of the Appraisement-West have sent the shipping agents list to the MCC-Preventive for scrutiny.

The Appraisement-West is working to prepare a list of clearing agents involved in import of vehicles under Vehicles Amnesty Scheme (VAS).

Appraisement-West Collector Muhammad Saleem told Customs Today that Additional Collector-I Dr Iftikhar Ahmed was preparing the list of the clearing agents who were involved in clearance of vehicles under the amnesty scheme.

“The list after preparing would be sent to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for further proceedings,” Collector Saleem added.

To a question, the collector said that show-cause notices may be issued to the clearing agents involved in clearing the vehicles by using unfair means.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had formed a six-member committee headed by then MCC Export Collector Wasif Memon. The committee had sent a comprehensive report to the FBR after conducting a thorough investigation.
