PASDEC installs $3.6m machinery pool at FATA

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) has established a machinery pool worth of $3.6 million at Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

The project has been launched in collaboration with USAID, an official in the Company told APP here on Wednesday.  Giving details about other projects being launched by PASDEC in collaboration with international and local donors, the official said the Company had also launched Mosaic Training programme for women’s worth Rs. 49 million with Italian NGO (APALMO Italy).  Moreover, he said marble machinery operators Training Programme worth Rs15 million was launched with the help of USAID.  Another Marble Mosaic Training programme was also launched with the help of GIZ who donated Rs 115 million for the purpose, he said adding under the project two training centers were established in Abbottabad and Islamabad.

Similarly, he said World Bank under Multi Donor Trust Fund has provided machinery worth Rs.400 million through KPK government for up-gradation Machinery Pool Risalpur.

The official said Fata Development Authority was provided funds worth Rs.117 million for establishment of two mechanized quarry projects in FATA for sector development.

In addition UNIDO funded Rs.3.6 million of conducting mosaic and inlay trainings and UNDP has also funded Rs.2.1 million for Disaster Risk Reduction Trainings.
