KARACHI: Four ships C.V Maersk Kinloss, C.V UASC Al-Khor, M.T North Gas and M.T Brizo carrying containers, LPG and furnace oil took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile another Containers ship Maersk Surabaya also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during the same day. Sixty percent berth occupancy was observed at the Port on Tuesday where total nine ships namely Maersk Kinloss, UASC Al-Khor, Zealand Driane, BBC Africa, CTG Bismuth, North Gas, Umm Bab, Maritime Dinar and Brizo are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Clinker Cargo, Chemicals, LPG, LNG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the Port where a cargo volume of 167,431 tonnes, comprising 159,394 tonnes import cargo and 8,037 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,501 containers TEUs (3,078 imports TUEs & 423 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.
Three ships, LNG Carrier Umm Bab, Chemicals carrier CTG Bismuth and General cargo carrier BBC Africa sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while Edible oil tanker Maritime Dinar is expected to sail on same day.
Three ships, C.V Maersk Surabaya, M.T Black Pearl-110 and M.T Life Galaxy carrying Containers, 4,237 tonnes LPG and 18,473 tonnes Palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and LCT respectively on Wednesday February 8, while M.V Prime and M.T FPMCP Fortune are due to arrive at PQ on same day.
