ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) generated Rs234million more revenue during present January under the head of total duty taxes than last year’s corresponding FY2015-16’s. The collectorate earned Rs1612.19million income under head of total duty taxes during January of FY2016-17 whereas the collectorate had collected Rs1377.94million during the same period of corresponding year FY2015-16 under head of collection of all duty taxes.
According to details told by Qurban Ali Khan, Collector MCC Peshawar, that Peshawar Collectorate collected gross revenue of Rs555.86million as Customs Duty (CD) during the month of January FY2016-17 adding that during the same period of corresponding year FY2015-16, the MCC collected revenue of Rs.518.77million as total Customs Duty (CD).
The collector told Customs Today that during above said period, the collectorate earned revenue of Rs436.42million as Sales Tax (ST) saying that during the same period of corresponding year 2015-16, the collectorate received Rs387.02million under the head of Sales Tax (ST).
The collector added that during January FY2016-17, the collectorate collected Rs160.70million as Sales Tax levied as Federal Excise Duty (FED) vat mode (Palm oil) and the collectorate did Rs170.72million under the head of Sales Tax levied as Federal Excise Duty (FED) vat mode (Palm oil) during corresponding year FY2015-16.
Qurban Ali Khan told Customs Today that during January FY2016-17, the collectorate generated Rs64.17million income as Sales Tax value addition on commercial importers whereas the collectorate earned Rs44.60million under the same head during the same period of corresponding FY2015-16.
It is also told that during January’s FY2016-17, the collectorate got Rs.13.39 income as gross Federal Excise Duty (FED) on imports while the collectorate collected Rs18.61million as gross FED on imports during the same period of FY2015-16 adding that the collectorate received Rs381.65million as gross Additional Income Tax (AIT) and Withholding Tax whereas the collectorate did Rs238.22million under the same head during the corresponding Financial Year FY2015-16.
