Faisalabad ASO seizes non-duty paid tyres worth Rs600,000

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has confiscated foreign origin tyres (123- Nos ), worth Rs6,00,000 involving duty taxes amounting to Rs80,000.

Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan following information formed a team to conduct a raid. The team raided near Gatt wala Toll plaza Sheikhupura Road Faisalabad and recovered above said quantity of tyres.

The ASO team asked the owner and his accomplices identified as Muhammad Imran shahzad, Muhammad Ashraf and Muhammad Ghazanfar Ali to produce documents regarding the legal possession of the items, but they failed to provide any relevant documents.

The ASO team consisting of Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joyia, Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan, Khalid Ashraf Noor, Safdar Ali, Sepoys Muhammad Khalid, Muhammad Ashraf, Liaqat Ali and Muhammad Naeem confiscated the items under the customs laws.

The ASO after seizing the items under section 2(s) read with SRO 566(1)/2005 of the Customs Act 1969 and forwarded the case to the Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
