Customs Inspector Jilani exonerated from allegations

ISLAMABAD: Ghulam Jilani, a Pakistan Customs Service officer of BS-16, exonerated from the allegations levelled against him.

The disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the officer, presently posted as Inspector at Model Customs Collectorate (Appraisement), Lahore, under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973. Sadia Munib, Additional Director (BS-19), Directorate of Post Clearance Audit, Lahore, was appointed as inquiry officer to conduct inquiry into the charges levelled against the officer.

According to inquiry report, the charges levelled against the accused officer were not established. The authorised officer/Chief (Management-Customs) FBR, therefore, exonerated Ghulam Jilani from the charges levelled against him.

However, the accused official was warned to be careful in future. He is reinstated into the government service from the date of his suspension i.e. June 16, 2016 and his period of suspension will be treated as having been spent on duty.
