Customs, ANF recover 1kg heroin from passenger at Multan airport

MULTAN: Customs authorities and Anti –Narcotics Force deputed at the Multan International Airport foiled an attempt of smuggling of one kilogram heroine to Madina.

According to details, Multan Customs authorities intercepted a passenger at Multan International Airport during examination of luggage. A customs team was conducting their routine examination of passenger luggage through scanning at the time of departure where they found suspected goods in different pattern.

Customs teams re-examined the goods in order to clear their doubts about the luggage. During thorough examination of passenger Customs team found heroine of one kilogram which was positioned in the dress (Ehraam) of Umrah. Heroine was found from the luggage of passenger Nazir Ahmad who is resident of Khushab and he was trying to smuggle one kilogram heroine from Multan to Madina through Air blue flight no 876.

Customs teams called Anti-Narcotics Force after recovery of one kilogram drug packed in two different packets in the luggage of passenger and they have arrested passenger accused on the smuggling attempt of heroine.

Sources told heroine was in granule form and it was very fine in quality. The total worth of the seized drug was almost Rs20 million in the international market. Passenger was shifted to undisclosed place for interrogation. Further investigations are still under process.
