DG Customs Intelligence lauds Faisalabad Intelligence on result-oriented raids

FAISALABAD: Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Shaukat Ali appreciated the efforts of Customs Intelligence Faisalabad for conducting result-oriented raids on smugglers.

Director General Shaukat Ali praised the staff while visiting Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad office and reviewed the progress of the departments. Director Customs I&I Enforcement Rubab Sikandar and Deputy Director Riaz Hussain welcomed him on his arrival.

Director Intelligence Rubab Sikandar and Riaz Hussain, Deputy Director, briefed the director general about the ongoing activities and performance of the officers against the offenders involved in the smuggling and tax evasion. Riaz Hussain brief the DG on the progress of the department.

He said during the Financial Year2016-17 in the first six months (July-January), Faisalabad Intelligence registered almost 135 smuggling cases valued Rs424 millions involving customs duty and taxes of Rs208millions. The department earned Rs152million through auction and release of smuggling items.

The director general asked the officers to expand the circle of informers as wide as possible so that activities of the culprits can be monitored in an organised manner.

Director General Shaukat Ali was already on a one-day official visit to Lahore and Gujranwala where he held several meetings and reviewed the overall progress of the departments.
