DUBAI: Dubai Customs selected 10 initiatives and CSR programs to implement during the Year of Giving 2017. These 10 initiatives were born out of more than 160 ideas submitted during the brainstorming sessions that took place internally on 29 and 30 January, and involved different departments and sections at Dubai Customs. The year of Giving, decreed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is a continuation of the giving and selflessness efforts initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum (may God have mercy upon them), said Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs.

“Giving is an inherent value and a daily practice amongst the Emiratis, and the UAE philanthropic initiatives led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses, Members of the UAE Supreme Council are recognized worldwide and an example to follow” Musabih added. Following the leadership’s directives and to show its social responsibility commitment, Dubai Customs organized brainstorming sessions that involved a number of internal departments. A number of ideas about how best to serve the community during the Year of Giving were put on the table and discussed, Musabih explained.
