SHC adjourns hearing of Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company case

ISLAMABAD: A single bench of Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) adjourned hearing of M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company after hearing brief arguments on the case.

ATIR Accountant Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti heard the case. The bench adjourned hearing on the matter for further arguments.

M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company had contested show cause notices issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to details, the above mentioned company had challenged recovery of issued to it in head of outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company had submitted the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2014 in head of income tax under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including Commissioner Inland Revenue, Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and Appellate M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company prayed that the assessment order issued by the LTU officer was illegal, unlawful and without legal grounds.
