DG Shaukat Ali orders zero tolerance towards owners of NDP goods, vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Shaukat Ali has issued special directives to the car cell headquarters and Customs I&I Rawalpindi to adopt zero tolerance towards owners of non duty paid vehicles residing in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

During his visit to Customs Intelligence and Investigations located at Sector G-/12 along with other officers, the director general take notice of remaining stock of auctionable cars and other goods which had could not be sale out in last auction.

In this context he directed for early disposal of these vehicles and goods through transparent process of auction. According to sources it has come into the knowledge of Director General and he has also personally observed that there are numbers of smuggled and non duty cars which are lying in the Warehouse of Customs Intelligence and Investigations.

Sources said that director general will also write a letter to the head of provincial motor registration authorities for the action against those employees who are involved in to issued fake registration books.

During the investigation against owners of smuggled and non duty paid vehicles it has been disclosed before the Customs Intelligence that often numbers of that vehicles are running on fake registration books and the some corruptions persons from inside the excise and taxation offices are helping the criminals.
