‘Gujranwala region to start ad campaign against human trafficking’

SIALKOT: Deputy Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Region Sheikh Khalid Anees has said the FIA has decided to launch an advertising campaign and arranging seminars to give awareness of human trafficking to the citizens whereas the FIA has also formulated a plan to nab the human traffickers in region. In this regard, the FIA will deliver lecturers to students of schools and colleges on dangers of human smuggling.

Talking to Customs Today on the other day, Anees said that a meeting was arranged on Tuesday in which all subordinate officers and officials participated. It was decided in meeting that an advertising campaign should be launched in the six districts of Gujranwala including Sialkot, Hafizabad, Narowal, Gujrat and Mandi Bahawaldin for the awareness of the citizens against human trafficking.

He said the FIA is contacting all the schools and colleges through education department to deliver lecturers to students against dangerous effects of human trafficking. He said the lectures will be delivered in Turkey, Germany, Athens, Italy, France and other countries. He requested all the citizens to cooperate with the FIA Department to eradicate human trafficking because the human traffickers are the real enemy of the country.

He said the FIA is taking action against human traffickers with limited human and material resources but even then FIA Gujranwala Region is showing good results.
