ATIR to resume hearing of income tax matter filed by M/s Aftab Traders

ISLAMABAD: A bench of Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) will resume the hearing of a tax matter filed by M/s Aftab Traders on Thursday (today).

ATIR Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti will hear the case. The bench would hear the case after being remanded back by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

M/s Aftab Traders had contested the show cause notice issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to details, M/s Aftab Traders had challenged the recovery notice issued to it under the head of outstanding income tax by the Regional Tax Office, Islamabad.

M/s Aftab Traders had submitted the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2012 under the provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The FBR, officers of the RTO including commissioner Inland Revenue, commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) were made respondents in the case.

M/s Aftab Traders prayed that the assessment order issued by the RTO officer was illegal, unlawful and without legal grounds.
