Customs, police seize 1000-litre of smuggled Iranian diesel

KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Customs Preventive with the collaboration of Mochko Police has foiled a bid of smuggling Irani diesel in the area of Mochko.

According to details, the ASO team received an information that huge quantity of Iranian diesel is being smuggled from National Highway to the city and then move to other parts of the country.

On a tip-off, a team of ASO with the support of area police has field their officers at Mochko Check-Post and during the checking, the authorities signalled a truck to stop and upon its checking it was found that it contains smuggled Irani diesel concealing into the hidden cavities of the truck.

The Customs authorities informed Customs Today that 1000 liters of Irani diesel has been found from the hidden cavities of the truck, adding that the truck driver namely Dad Muhammad has been arrested from the spot.

The sources further informed Customs Today that the investigation is being continued with the arrested driver in order to reach to the real culprits of smuggled Irani diesel.

The authorities further said that the seized diesel has millions of rupees cost in international market.
