FBR officer granted bail booked in embezzling recovered currency

KARACHI: Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi granted an interim bail to accused Muhammad Afzal, Superintendent, Directorate General, Intelligence and Investigation, FBR Karachi, who was booked in a case of smuggling of foreign currency and embezzlement of recovered foreign currency.

During the hearing, counsel for the accused filed an application for the bail and submitted that his client is innocent and was falsely implicated in the case therefore court may grant him a bail before arrest till final decision after the hearing, so the court granted him bail against the surety of Rs300000. The court also directed the accused to appear before the court on the next date of hearing.
