Chairman FBR holds press moot on important issues today

FBR Chairman Irshad to personally hear case of Anwar Chaudhary on March 6

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Customs Service grade-19 officer Anwar Chaudhary will appear before Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Dr Muhammad Irshad for personal hearing on  March 6, 2017 at FBR House.

According to the details, Anwar Chaudhary is facing charges of mis-conduct, corruption and violation of rules and customs laws. An inquiry has been completed against him and the inquiry officer, after finding the facts in the case, has recommended a major penalty for him under the relevant government civil services law.

The inquiry officer has recommended Member Administration Muhammad Majid Qureshi to take action against the officer.

Sources told Customs Today that on the request of Anwar Chaudhary, the FBR chairman has decided to give him one last opportunity and asked him to appear before him and also produce the material in support of his arguments and explanation on the hearing day.

Chairman FBR also directed the Member Administration to produce a record of inquiry committee decision regarding the case of Anwar Chaudhary before him. Anwar has requested the chairman that the set judicial procedures and basic principle has not been followed in this case.

He requested to re-examine the complaints and relevant data against him. He termed the decision of inquiry officer as violation of basic principles of service rules.
