The Iranians called on the Bank Indonesia (the country’s central bank) and OJK officials and held talks with executives from private and government-owned banks and members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The potential for closer collaboration between the two sides, especially in business, was a key subject of discussion as both sides looked favorably toward clearing hurdles on the way of bilateral ties and strengthening banking deals.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo is due to pay an official visit to Tehran soon and a joint commission is to be held in Jakarta.
