Customs Central Region collects Rs1182m WHT in February

LAHORE: Customs Central region has collected Rs1182 million withholding tax (WHT) during the month of February financial year 2016-17.

As per details the Customs Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 512 million WHT during the month of February of financial year 2016-17. Similarly, Customs Preventive Lahore collected Rs636 million WHT during the period under review. The Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 20 million WHT during the month of February.

The Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad has collected zero federal excise duty while same period last financial year it has collected Rs13 million.

Overall the Central Region collected total withholding tax from all the four collectorate worth Rs1182 million during the month of February of financial year 20161-17.

It is necessary to mention here that the Central Region assigned Rs1322 million WHT collection target against the target of Rs1322 million assigned during the same period last financial year. Sources said that the collectors of all the four Collectorate told to use all available resources to meet financial year’s targets while the Customs Central Region chief collector office has also been monitoring all the revenue collection from all stations that come under the limits of Central Region.
