KARACHI: The newly appointed Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) Manzoor Hussain Memon has asked the authorities concerned of Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Preventive to further alert the Customs officials at the departure and arrival of the Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi to ensure 100 percent removal of smuggling of contraband items to and from the country.
During the meeting, the Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) was briefed by the Additional Collector (ADC) Asad Raza at his office. The Collector-MCC Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo was also present on the occasion.
The Additional Collector-Asad Raza informed the Chief Collector-Enforcement that the Customs officials deployed at arrival and departure of the JIAP are doing their jobs with full dedication while seizing millions of worth smuggled methamphetamine at the airport.
Asad Raza further said that the Customs officials at JIAP caught two cases in which the unscrupulous elements were trying to smuggle methamphetamine worth Rs20 million approximately.
The Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) Manzoor Memon hailed the performance of the Customs officials and applauded their efforts in limited resources.
The Chief Collector-Enforcement South Manzoor Memon assured the Collector-MCC Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo that he will forward the strong recommendation to the Federal Board of Revenue for rewarding Customs officials, who took part in seizures of contraband items.
