Customs Preventive recovers drug worth Rs10m from Doha bound passenger

KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs has recovered huge quantity of drugs from the possession of a passenger during a raid at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) Karachi.

According to the details, the staff of the Pakistan Customs Preventive deputed at the departure, after getting a tip-off, intercepted a passenger named Siddique and asked him for getting checked the luggage as well as travel documents.

During the search, the officers of the Pakistan Customs Preventive found 950 grams of high quality crystal amphetamine powder as well as 2 Kg and 700 grams of Hashish hidden in the secret places of the bags at the departure of the Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) Karachi.

The source informed Customs Today that the passenger was travelling to Doha through Flight No QR-604 of Qatar Airlines. The recovered crystal amphetamine powder as well as Hashish was worth Rs 10 million in the international market. The culprit has been arrested after registering an FIR. Further investigation is underway.
