18 accused including 8 employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines charge of smuggling 124kg gold

DHAKA: Detectives today (Monday, March 06, 2017) pressed charges against 18 people including 8 employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in a case filed over smuggling of 124 kilogram gold in 2013.

Md Golam Saklain, assistant commissioner of Detective Branch of police and also Investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet before the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate in Dhaka. Of the 18 accused, 13 are on bail while five are on the run.

The Biman employees are: Kamrul Hasan, junior security office; Abu Jafar, sweeping supervisor; Masudur Rahman, aircraft mechanic; Anis Uddin Bhuiyan, assistant aircraft mechanic; Mojibur Rahman Mojib, aircraft mechanic; Md Shahjahan Siraj alias Babul, senior inspection officer; Saleh Ahmed, engineering officer; and Rayhan Ali.
