Swiss finance department seeks ‘tax proposal 17’

FBR receives over 20,000 income tax returns in five days of March

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has received more than 20,000 income tax returns for the fiscal year 2016 in just five days of March 2017.

These non-filers used FBR online portal after the launch of Active Taxpayers List (ATL) – 2016 on March 01, 2017.

The number of return filers in the first ATL-2016 was 1.01 million. The updated ATL-2016 as on March 5, 2017 issued on weekly basis on Monday the number of active taxpayers return filers increased to 1.03 million. The FBR has compiled the list of 200,000 taxpayers, who failed to file the return during tax year 2016.
