Faisalabad adjudication adjourns hearings of 59 cases in February

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication adjourned the hearing of 59 seizure cases worth Rs88.389million during the month of February 2017.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Adjudication Collector has adjourned the hearing of three cases worth Rs3.505million pertaining to the seizures of various items.

These items include different brand of vehicles, Land Cruiser, Vitz car, ladies fabrics, children shoes, televisions, mobile phones and remotes. The cases were registered by customs authorities. The collector directed the owners of the seized goods and their counsels to present their arguments in the next hearing.

Furthermore, Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Remzan also adjourned the hearing of 15 cases worth Rs41.409million while Deputy Collector Asma Hameed adjourned 41 cases involving Rs43.475million.

Most of the adjourned seizure cases were detected and registered by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, while few cases were made by the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO).

The seizure cases pertaining to smuggled vehicles, mobile phones, base oil, tryes, tubes and auto parts were heard by the Customs Adjudication.
