Gawadar Customs seizes mobile accessories worth Rs 1.2m, nabs two suspects

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Gawadar has seized smuggled mobile accessories worth Rs 1.2m and nabbed two accused in an operation in Omara.

According to details, Collector Saeed Akram received a tip-off regarding transportation of smuggled goods from Omara. He immediately called up the customs anti smuggling team and directed them to thwart the smuggling attempt.

The customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) team, under the supervision of Inspector Preventive Badar Shah, raided a warehouse and recovered 50 smart phones, 500 mobile batteries, chargers, casing, mini hard disk and other miscellaneous mobile accessories. The said items were packed in white bags.

The ASO team confiscated the items and asked the watchman about owners of the items. On his information, the ASO team arrested two accused. The ASO team registered a case against the accused and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceeding.
