CDA asked to construct parking and underpass in Blue Area to facilitate business activities

ISLAMABAD: Khalid Iqbal Malik, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called upon the CDA to take urgent measures for construction of parking and underpass in Blue Area as lack of these facilities was creating hurdles in promoting business activities in the largest business track in Islamabad. He was addressing a delegation of newly elected All Traders Welfare Association, Blue Area, Islamabad that visited ICCI led by its President Yousaf Rajput.

Patron-in-Chief Mian Akram Farid, Group Chairman Malik Saghir Ahmed, General Secretary Raja Hasan Akhtar and other members of association were in the delegation.

Khalid Iqbal Malik said that during the oath taking ceremony of newly elected All Traders Welfare Association, Blue Area, Islamabad, Sheikh Anser Aziz, Chairman CDA had assured to resolve parking, underpass and other key issues of Blue Area and stressed that chairman CDA should take urgent steps to honor his assurance. He reiterated that ICCI would strive for resolving the key issues of all markets including Blue Area.

Speaking at the occasion, Yousaf Rajput newly elected President, All Traders Welfare Association Blue Area, Islamabad said that apart from parking and underpass, Blue Area was also facing problems of sewerage, filtration plants and street lights. He said the state of development in the largest business track in Islamabad was very unsatisfactory due to which business activities were suffering. He urged that CDA should resolve these issues on priority.

He said that during the construction of Metro Bus track, Blue Area traders suffered huge losses. They said Metro Bus affected traders in Rawalpindi were given tax concessions and other compensation while Metro Bus affected traders in Islamabad were given no such compensation which was unfortunate.

Khalid Malik, Senior Vice President ICCI, Tahir Ayub Vice President ICCI, Khalid Javed Chairman Founder Group, Mian Akram Farid Patron-in-Chief of Blue Area, Group Chairman Malik Saghir Ahmed, Secretary General Raja Hasan Akhtar, former President FPCCI Malik Zubair Ahmed, Chief Coordinator FPCCI Malik Sohail Hussain and others also spoke at the occasion.
