Sargodha ASO seizes non duty paid diesel generator, Nissan truck

FAISALABAD: The Anti Smuggling Organization of Sargodha seized foreign origin diesel generator worth Rs81,21,750 involving customs duty and taxes Rs20,47,493. The ASO team also impounded Nissan truck worth Rs15,00,000 being used for smuggling.

According to details, Additional Collector Saeed Asad received information about the said smuggled generator. The customs authorities established a check post under the supervision of Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan. The team intercepted a Nissan truck bearing registration number LEI-15A-669 near Jhal Chakian Khushab Road Sargodha loaded with foreign origin generator (455 KVA) made in UK.

When the ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle Rafaqat Khan to produce legal documents of the generator, he failed to produce any legal documents regarding legal import of generator. So the ASO team comprising of Superintendent Choudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Malik atif Mumtaz, Bashir Ahmed, Havaldar Muhammad Ashraf and Sepoys Hafiz Naseer Ahmed, Abdul Shakoor, Manzoor Hussain Shah seized the generator and vehicle on the spot.

The Anti Smuggling Organization Sargodha superintendent also registered a case against the accused. Further proceedings are in progress.
