Customs Court adjourns hearing of mis-declaration case till March 16

KARACHI: Customs Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has remanded a suspect, Muhammad Adnan, to the customs custody until March 16, 2017.

Adnan is proprietor of M/s AD International Export and Import, TV Colony Peshawar, and was booked in a case of mis-declaration.

During the hearing, Muhammad Ahmed, Appraising Officer Model Customs Collectorate, Appraisement West Customs House Karachi produced the suspect before the court. He submitted that the suspect, in connivance with other accomplices, has willfully committed mis-declaration.

After his arguments, the court sent the accused on physical remand and directed the investigation officer to produce him on the next date of hearing along with progress report.

According to the prosecution, case was registered against Muhammad Adnan and others in under section 2 (s) 16, 19, 32, 79, 121 and 192 of the Customs Act 1969 read with section 3 (1) of Import & Export Control Act 1950 punishable under clauses 8, 9, 10A, 14, 45, 63, of section 156 (1) of the Customs Act 1969 read with section 3 (3) of the Import & Export (Control) Act 1950.
