HYDERABAD: The ASO has seized 10 smuggled cartons of LED monitors and six cartons of CPU worth Rs 360500 involving duties and taxes of Rs389594 during an action in Sukkur.
Following the instructions of Collector Hyderabad Agha Shahid Majeed Khan, a team was constituted under the supervision of Additional Collector Rehmetulah Vistro to carry out operations in the region to curb smuggling.
The ASO team intercepted a vehicle at Jacobabad checkpost and recovered the said items being smuggled from Quetta.
The ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce the legal documents of the import and possession of goods but he failed to prove anything genuine, so the customs seized all the items under the customs bylaws.
After making seizure report, the team deposited the confiscated items into the Sukkur State Ware House.
The raiding team comprised Superintendent Ghulam Shabbir Phuputo, Inspectors Nasrullah Jilal, Ayaz Ali Shah, Abdul Wahab Sheikh, Muhammad Jurial Abbasi, Agha Nazir Ahmed, Sepoys Shabbir Ahmed Thebo, Iqbal Sheikh, Hawaldar Mehram Ali, Driver Manzoor Shori and other staff.
