ATIR adjourns hearing of tax matter filed by M/s Shalimar Recording & Broadcasting Company

ISLAMABAD: A bench of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) dated in office the hearing on M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company following absence of the main counsels from the tribunal.

ATIR Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti heard the case and received submission, seeking time to resume arguments on the cases by the main counsels.

M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company had contested show cause notices issued by the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue. According to details, the company had challenged recovery notice issued to it under the head of outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company had submitted the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2014 in head of income tax under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

M/s Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company prayed that the assessment order issued by the LTU officer was illegal, unlawful and without legal grounds.
