Customs collects Rs172.99m more Customs Duty & Sales Tax than assigned target

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad generated Rs172.99million surplus Customs Duty and Sales Tax against the assigned target during eight months (July to February) Financial Year 2016-17. The Islamabad collectorate was assigned collection target of Rs6323.00million whereas it collected Rs.6498.99 million.

According to Collector MCC Islamabad Dr. Arslan, collectorate’s performance has been satisfactory during the first eight months. The collectorate earned Rs3435.42million CD whereas it was assigned CD collection target of Rs3313.00million for the same period. The collectorate received more revenue with an amount of Rs122.42million against the assigned target under the same head.

The collectorate got Rs3036.57million Sales Tax during eight months whereas it was assigned Rs3013.00million under head of Sales Tax during July to February FY16-17.

Dr. Arslan further said the collectorate received Rs50.57million more revenue under the same head against the assigned target for above said period.
