Over 10.7m cotton bales reach ginneries

MULTAN: Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) on Saturday released its fortnightly report indicating national cotton production at 10.722 million bales, showing a percentage increase by 9.99 per cent.  Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to 10.722 million or 10,722,245 bales have reached ginneries across Pakistan till March 15, 2017, registering a 9.99 per cent gain compared to corresponding period of last year.

Out of total arrivals, phutti equivalent to 10,722,328 or 10.72 million bales have undergone the ginning process.  The arrivals at Punjab ginneries were recorded 6.9 million or 6,935,370 bales recording a percentage increase of 15.92 per cent compared to corresponding period of last year.  Arrivals at ginneries in Sindh were recorded at 3.787 million or 3,787,111 bales showing a percentage increase of 0.56 per cent.
