LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved a 14-day judicial remand of the accused arrested by the customs authorities from Faisalabad on Tuesday.
Accused Tayab Manzoo was booked by the customs preventive at Faisalabad international airport while he reached there from Bahrain. The accused was travelling by flight of Gulf Airways.
During a search, customs preventives found mobile phones that he was trying to smuggle into Faisalabad.
The customs team recovered 60 cell phones hidden in his bag. A case was registered against the accused after confiscating the cell phones.
The customs investigation and prosecution team presented him before the judge and asked for his physical remand which was approved.
The case was registered under Pakistan Customs Act-1969.
