PRA collects Rs2.20tr taxes during last five years

SIALKOT: -Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has claimed to collect Rs.2.20 trillions in shape of different taxes during the last five consecutive years in Punjab’s five Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad Division  here.

Deputy Commissioner PRA Gujranwala Division Zaka Ullah disclosed this while addressing the participants of an awareness-raising seminar about the tax culture held at the Gujranwala campus of University of Sargodha (UoS) here

He said that the government had established the Punjab  Revenue Authority (PRA) in 2012(five years ago) for the collection of the different taxes from across te Punjab, He said that the PRA had collected Rs.22 billion as different taxes in 2012, Rs. 39 billion in 2013, Rs.42 billion in 2014, Rs. 50 billion in 2015 and Rs. 68 billion in 2016 in shape of different taxes as well.

Zaka Ullah revealed that this shows the growing graph of the good performance of PRA in taxes’ collection in Punjab as well. He said that the PRA has also remained successful in restoring the confidence of the tax-payers over the government’s tax collection policies as well. He said that the PRA would celebrate the annual Tax Day in Gujranwala on April 10th,2017 .
