Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships NYK Furano and Bottiglieri Ambition carrying containers and Canola Seeds were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Grain and Fertilizer Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile two more ships `Jazan’ and `Aeo Los’ with Containers and Coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at sixty seven percent on Sunday where a total of ten ships namely, NYK Furano, MSC Alice, TG Poseidon, Ikan Senyur, Shi Zhi Shan, Bottiglieri Ambition, Umm Bab, Gas Chem Adriatic, Bunga Angelica and Brizo were occupied at PQA berth to load/offload Containers, Coal Canola Seeds, LNG, LPG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo through put during last 24 hours stood at 142,484 tonnes, comprising 95,003 tonnes import cargo and 47,481 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,433 Containers (TUEs) 934 imports TUEs and 1,900 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.

Two Container ships, NYK Furano and TG Poseidon and Bulk cargo carrier Shi Zi Shan sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three more ships, Container Vessel MSC Alice, Gas Carrier Umm Bab and oil tanker Brozo are expected to sail on same day.

Four ships C.V Jazan, M.V Saratov, M.T Bneider and M.T Gas Esco carrying Containers, Coal, Diesel oil and LPG are expected to take berth to take berths at QICT, MW-2, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Monday, while three more ships MSC Pina, Al-Khor and Calimero are due to arrive at PQ on Tuesday.
