Chairman FBR holds press moot on important issues today

FBR chief gives personal hearing to suspended Grade-18 officer

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr. Muhammad Irshad has given a personal hearing to suspended Grade-18 officer Additional Commissioner Inland Revenue Karachi, M. Mustafa Kamal.

The disciplinary proceedings were initiated against Mustafa Kamal under the Government Servants Efficiency & Discipline Rules-1973 on account of acts of omission and commission constituting “Inefficiency” and “Misconduct” committed by accused officer while being posted as Additional Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR) RTO Karachi.

It is important to mention here that inquiry committee, comprising Lubna Farrukh Mirza (IRS BS 21), then Chief Commissioner IR RTO II Karachi, and Syed Ayaz Mehmood (IRS BS 21), was constituted to conduct an inquiry into the allegation. The committee had submitted an inquiry report mentioning that the officer violated the service rules. After having examined the inquiry report, case record and verbal submissions of the accused officer, the Authorized Officer/Member (Admin) found the accused officer guilty of the charge of “Inefficiency” to the extent as mentioned in the Inquiry Report and recommended to the Authority Secretary Revenue Division, Chairman FBR, to impose a major penalty of removal from the service.
