Faisalabad Adjudication adjourns 54 smuggling cases in March

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Adjudication adjourned the hearing of 54 seizure cases worth Rs 126.093 million during the month of March 2017.

Sources told Customs Today Customs Adjudication Collector Mubashir Baig has adjourned the hearing of six cases worth Rs 48.155 million pertaining to the seizures of various items. The cases were made by customs authorities. The collector directed the owners of seized goods and their counsels to conclude their arguments in next hearing.

Furthermore, Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad adjourned the hearing of 11 cases worth Rs33.559 million, while Deputy Collector Asma Hameed adjourned the hearing of 37 cases involving Rs44.379 million.

Most of the adjourned seizure cases were detected and registered by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, while few cases were made by the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO).

Meanwhile, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed adjourned the hearing of 37 smuggled cases involving customs duty and taxes worth Rs44.379 million. The seizure cases pertaining to smuggled vehicles, mobile phones, base oil, tryes, tubes and auto parts were heard by the Customs Adjudication.
