Customs Appraisement post 4 pc growth in duty, taxes collection

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement Lahore has collected Rs6304 million duty and taxes during the month of March if current Financial Year 2016-17 which is 4 percent additional against the assigned target of Rs6079 for the same month.

The Collectoarte collected Rs2611 million under the head of customs duty during month of March while it collected Rs 3180 million under the head sales tax during the period under review.

Similarly the Collectoarte collected Rs511 million withholding tax  (WHT) during the month while it collected Rs 1.3 million as federal excise duty (FED) during the same period of March financial year 2016-17.

Over all the Collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 6304 million duty and taxes registering a growth of 4 percent against the target for the month of March.

It is necessary to mention here that customs authorities are expedited their efforts to collect more revenue and for this purpose they are using all available resources to collect tax from tax evaders.
