Samberial on top of collection with Rs64.07m more ST than assigned target

ISLAMABAD: The North Region’s Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Samberial comes on the top of collection under the head of Sales Tax with more collection of Rs64.07million than the assigned target during the third quarter (January to March) of Financial Year 2016-17. The Samberial was assigned the target of Rs33.00million against the collection of Rs97.07million of Sales Tax during said period. The Customs North Region comprises of MCC Islamabad, MCC Peshawar, MCC Samberial and MCC Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Customs’s North was assigned revenue target of Rs3214.20million ST during third quarter FY16-17 whereas it collected Rs3155.95million under the same head. The document provided to the Customs Today showed that the North declined with the amount of Rs-58.25million against an assigned revenue target for third quarter.

The MCC Islamabad collected Rs1339.81million against the assigned revenue target of Rs1255.00million. The MCC Islamabad exceeded its assigned target with an amount of Rs84.81million ST during third quarter FY16-17.

The MCC Peshawar was assigned Rs1899.00million target of ST and it collected Rs1719.07million under the same head whereas it showed a little decline against the assigned target with an amount of Rs-179.93 during the third quarter of FY16-17.

The MCC Gilgit-Baltistan is showing no collection of ST because it was closed and dysfunctional due to heavy snow during the third quarter of January to March 2016-17. The MCC GB will reopen in May 2016-17 for business activity.
