LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has issued Sales Tax notices to a number of restaurants located in different posh areas of the city Lahore and Faisalabad.
As per details available to Customs Today, various PRA teams, under the supervisions of additional commissioner enforcement, took action against those restaurants which were reluctant to pay tax on their heavy sales. The authority has issued second notices to all the restaurants.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Revenue Authority has started installing monitoring system aimed at enhancing the revenue of provincial exchequer. It has also started a prize winning scheme to convince the masses for demanding sales tax invoices from restaurants.
It is also learnt that the PRA will continue its crackdown on those restaurants which are not submitting sales tax according to their real income. Sources said that stern action will be taken against those restaurants who are found involved in such practices.
