FBR chief seeks proposals to make body efficient & graft-free

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr. Muhammad Irshad has sought the proposals from the Members and officials to make the Federal Board of Revenue more efficient and a better organized body. He has also asked the officers of the FBR to prepare a recommendation for eliminating corruption in the Federal Board of Revenue’s field formation offices, especially in Pakistan Customs services.

He has asked the Member Customs, Zahid Khokhar, for formulation of proposals in this regard. He has showed a determination that he would bring out revolutionary changes in the Tax Authority. According to FBR sources, Chairman FBR is working and concentrating on making Federal Board of Revenue more powerful revenue collection tool. He is of the firm opinion that tax collection capacity can be increased more than double after taking few solid steps.
