Judgment on M/s Five Star Trading case reserved

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Appellate Tribunal reserved a decision on M/s Five Star Trading case challenging an announcement made by the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation (DGI&I) Islamabad.

The trading corporation had filed the case challenging the DGI7I announcement regarding the seizure of imported items and had sought release of those items by submitting the tribunal to set aside the announcement made by adjudication office in this context.

The Customs Appellate Tribunal’s single bench, comprising Member Technical Ziauddin Wazir, heard the case and reserved the decision. The bench also heard other cases.

M/s Waseem Autos, M/s Nisar Traders, M/s Parts & Parts, M/s Chief Autos, M/s Aman Elahi, M/s Kohinoor Traders, M/s Saleem Silk Centre, M/s Pakistan Royal Group and M/s Nayatel Private Limited had filed the customs references.

The appellants had filed the cases against Directorate General of Investigation and Intelligence Islamabad. Hearing of these cases was adjourned.

Earlier, the bench had postponed the hearing of these cases for the second time. The bench would resume these cases in coming weeks. The bench also heard some other cases which were also adjourned due to different reasons.
