Customs ASO seizes huge quantity of non duty paid goods from Gaddani

KARACHI: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) apprehend smuggled contraband items worth millions of rupees from Gaddani.

According to the information, the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) received credible information that a huge quantity of foreign origin milk / whey powder would be transported from Panjgor to Karachi through truck.

The Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) assigned the task to the deputy director of Anti Smuggling Organization Azam Khan who constituted a team of officers and boost up the checking at the entry and exit points of the city.

The team remained vigilant and enhanced the surveillance. During the checking of the heavy vehicles the team of the Anti Smuggling Organization intercepted a truck bearing registration no TXL-684 near Reg Lak at Gaddani and during checking a huge quantity of foreign origin goods were found in it.

The driver of the vehicle produced bilty No 3547 purportedly issued by M/s Muneer Dehani Traders Panjgoor in the name of Mobeen consignee and Haji Basheer Ahmed Dehani consignor along with GD No 600 dated 01-04-2017.

The suspect truck was brought to the office of the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Gaddani. During the complete search of the truck no TXL-684 the team found smuggled goods worth two millions of rupees.

The foreign origin contraband goods were being smuggled to Karachi through Gaddani. The officer of ASO has registered the case against the culprit involved in the smuggling whereas further investigations are still underway.
