ANKARA: Turkish steel exports continued to increase in the first quarter of 2017 despite increasing prices, according to the Turkish Steel Exporters’ Assn (ÇIB).
Turkey exported 5.2 million tonnes of steel products in January-March, which was 21.70% more than in the corresponding period of last year. The value of Turkish exports in the same period rose by 41.60% year-on-year to $3 billion. In the first quarter of the year, Turkey increased its export volumes by 101% year-on-year to 1.5 million tonnes.
