Hyderabad customs seizes contraband items Rs530000

HYDERABAD: The Customs Investigation and Intelligence, Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Hyderabad, has confiscated smuggled foreign origin 40 sacks of Dunlop Tyres, LTV SP sports, 490 tubeless made in Indonesia, and 40 sacks of Dunlop Tyres LTV made in Thailand worth Rs530000 involving duty and taxes of Rs85681 during an action in Hyderabad.

Sources told Customs Today that intelligence officials received a tip-off through Director Karachi Tahir Qureshi regarding the possible smuggling of Dunlop Tyres LTV SP sports. Following the information, the officials raided a vehicle near Hyderabad bypass and recovered the abovementioned smuggled goods. The customs intelligence officials asked the driver to produce documents of the imported goods, but he failed to do so.
