Appraisement East files FIR against three companies for mis-declaration

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate of Appraisement East, Customs House, Karachi, has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against directors /involved persons of M/s ATS Synthetic (Private) Limited, M/s Inservey Pakistan (Private) Limited, and owners/partners of M/s SK Enterprises in a mis-declaration case Rs 998, 245

The complainant, Malik Muhammad Hashim, the Preventive Officer Appraisement (East), Customs House, Karachi, found that the suspects had submitted false bills of shipment in (WeBOC) system to evade duty and taxes.

According to the preventive officer, the companies imported different types of polyester including special tricot, woven and jersey (knitted). He said that the directors/involved persons of M/s ATS Synthetic (Private) Limited, declared three imported consignments as‘fabric’.

He said that the accused persons were found guilty for violating Section 19, 32(1) 32(2). 32-A, 79 of the Customs Act, 1969 punishable under clause 10A, 14, 14A and 46 of section 56(1) of the Customs Act. 1969 read with Import and Export (Control) Act, 1950.

Hashim added that these consignments were shipped from Kwangyang, Korea through M/s Korea Marine Transport Co. Ltd., whose master shipping agent was M/s United Marine Agencies (Private) Limited, Karachi.

He said that the goods were mis-declared to avail inadmissible concession of Pak-China ETA regime under SRO 659(I)/2007.
