Hyderabad customs receives Rs841.065m against Rs1395.26m target during 18 days

HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Hyderabad has generated Rs841.065million Customs Duty and taxes against the assigned target of Rs1395.26million during 18 days of April 2017.

The department collected Rs229.935million CustomsDuty, Rs604.912million Sales Tax, Rs0.500million Federal Excise Duty (Special FED) and Rs5.718million Withholding Tax (WHT) during the abovementioned period.

The MCC Hyderabad received Rs 841.065 during 18 days of April 18, 2017 and expects to achieve Rs269.66million CustomsDuty (CD), Rs1.104million Sales Tax (ST), Rs3.6million Federal Excise Duty (FED) and Rs18million Withholding Tax (WHT).

The major tax sources were dry port, Hyderabad State Ware House, and Hyderabad Sukkur and Larkana division, Huffaz Seamless Pipe Industries, Crescent Steel, Omni Polymer Industries, Rema Cooking Oil and Pakistan State Oil.

Under the supervision of Hyderabad Customs Collector Ikhlaq Ahmed Khattaq, Additional Collector Rehmatullah Vistro, Deputy Collector Shahid Ali Abassi (HQ), Deputy Collector Mushtaque Ali Shahani, Dry Port and Superintendent Statistical Revenue Mohammed Yaqoob Pasha played an important role in revenue collection.

Officials said the anti-smuggling campaign was in full swing in the region following the direction of the Federal Board of Revenue and Collector Agha Shahid Majeed Khan to streamline the national economy.

The ASO also foiled various smuggling attempts and made big seizures including non-duty paid vehicles, different cigarettes, Iranian diesel HSD and other goods worth million of rupees.
