ASO confiscates 750 cartons of foreign cigarettes valued 01.459m

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad seized 750 cartons of foreign origin cigarettes worth Rs1.459million along with an offending vehicle (vehicle used for carrying smuggled goods). The ASO seized said smuggled goods from the GT Road Peshawar to Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
On a tip-off, the ASO seized a Bed Ford truck with a registration number FEX-447 which was coming from Peshawar and going to Rawalpindi.

The ASO stopped the said offending vehicle and asked the possessor to show the relevant documents of loaded smuggled goods but the possessor failed to do so.
The ASO impounded the truck and smuggled goods and shifted the seized goods along with Bedford truck to State Ware House. The estimated value of 750 cartons of Pine cigarettes was Rs0.0459million whereas the value of the offending vehicle was Rs01.00million.
