Customs Classification Committee finds correctly classifiable under 7616.9990

KARACHI: The Customs Classification Committee has found that suspension clamp for 500 MM2 (ALSC 182) made up of Aluminum equipped with all essential accessories is classifiable under HS Code 7616.9990.

Customs Appraisement-West on the directions of FTO forwarded a case of classification of suspension clamp for 500 MM2 (ALSC 182) imported by M/s Seven Star Company declared under HS Code 7616.9910.

Imported contended that main component of the subject item is manufactured by the process of casting, hence the same is classifiable under Hs Code 7616.9910.

Collectorate on the other hand is of the view that the goods are finished articles equipped with all necessary attachments and is ready to use hence the same are classifiable under Hs code 7616.9990.

Additional collector Haris Ansari Chairman of the Classification Committee after deliberations held that the suspension clamp for 500 MM2 (ALSC 182) made up of Aluminum equipped with all essential accessories is classifiable through application of GIR-I under HS Code 7616.9990.
