LHC disposes of bail plea of suspect in Rs 760m stock exchange graft scandal

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has disposed of bail’s application of Asim Iqbal in Rs760million stock exchange corruption scandal.

Justice Ali Baqir Najfi heard the case in which counsel for the appellant argued that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has no solid evidences regarding the case.

On the other side from the NAB, special prosecutor Faisal Bukhari appeared before the court and argued that 748 shareholders claimed against the accused and the accused have done bank transactions of millions of rupees of which Rs760million collective corruption evidences are available.

After hearing the detailed arguments from both sides, LHC has disposed of bail’s application of accused Asim Iqbal.
